It is the rifle of choice due to its short size but good ballistics. As I explain in the video I believe it was pure providence that the gas tube on the AK-100 series of rifles be at such a length that when shortened put the rifle's barrel at 12.4 inches. Even more interesting to me is that the AK-100 series of rifles were purely meant for export but certain models quickly found themselves in official service of Mother Russia.
